What Biblical Judgment Is and Why It Is Necessary

Nov 30, 2025    Matti Koopman

This message reframes biblical judgment not as divine punishment driven by anger, but as God’s necessary response when a world becomes so distorted that it can no longer sustain life. Judgment is presented as protective, restorative, and merciful — God stepping in when human systems, cultures, and power structures become toxic.

The message showed how judgment arises when:

• human desire becomes disordered,

• power is misused, and

• the vulnerable are exploited,

↳ leading to violence and chaos.

When these patterns reach a tipping point, God does not merely correct individuals; He confronts the system itself.

Judgment, then, is not God abandoning humanity, but God refusing to let destructive worlds go on shaping people indefinitely. It is the painful but necessary act of ending what is destroying us, so something genuinely new can begin.

Key Insight:

Judgment is not the opposite of love; it is love refusing to collude with destruction.
